I want to gauge interest in a podcast/video series about cryptography and game design.

It would feature stuff like mental poker and other "provably fair" games, secure multi-party computation, and p2p implementations which reflect the adversarial nature of the game in question. The field is fascinating and as far as I know there aren't any shows covering it.

Please favourite or reply if you'd be interested in such a thing.

There's four hours to go on this kickstarter card game I backed called "Corrugated Jungle" (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sirbob/corrugated-jungle/description), and it doesn't look like it'll make it.

It's pretty cheap for what it promises, and the gameplay looks pretty novel. It features cute animals illustrated in the style of cardboard models of animals, and revolves around a theme of recycling. It comes printed on a sheet of postcard material which you cut, or you can order it pre-cut. Backing it now might make a difference.

I'm thinking about setting up my own activityPub server for personal use and looking at misskey (https://github.com/syuilo/misskey) because I'm most comfortable with javascript.

The contributor list is full of anime girls and I'm vaguely aware that there's some correlation between that and white supremacy... They have a code of conduct, but the readme itself has pics of busty anime girls.

So, do any of my followers have experience with the community/codebase? Would you recommend it?

Fast forward to New Year's Eve 2029. Everybody is writing their top 10 memories of the decade on whatever medium has replaced blogs and social networking as we know it. Everyone who is still alive laughs and relives the memories of dancing to the coronavirus song during self-quarantine. Children born in the winter of 2020-2021 cringe as their parents recount their memories of being cooped up together.

I'm watching the Data Privacy Day 2020 live stream (https://staysafeonline.org/dpd20-live/) and I've spent about half of the time yelling at my screen.

There have been a few great speakers and panelists, but the demographic skews really heavily to the corporate/lawyer side of things.

If these are really the most authoritative voices they could find on the topic I can't imagine they spent a long time looking.

Example: after watching for more than an hour I just heard the first mention of encryption.

@dansup while I get that they probably included those thresholds to protect smaller businesses who aren't responsible for the majority of privacy violations, but it seems like it wouldn't be hard for a big business to bypass them.

All they need to do is restructure their business into multiple entities with revenue below 25M or with data sales accounting for 49% of their revenue.
